thimble+twine was started in 2009 by Emily+Anna, two best friends who met in college. Both having a strong creative background and a love for small personal details, they felt together that they could assist stressed brides in styling a beautiful, harmonious event. What began as a simple blog between two colleagues has now become a social occasions design company! We strive to create aesthetically pleasing, yet personal designs that reflect who you are! We also offer consultancy services for those who are DIY. who is anna? Since she was a little girl, Anna was always dabbling in arts and crafts, regularly building, painting and sketching. Going into Carnegie Mellon University, she studied business, human-computer interaction (interaction design) as well as communication design. Anna then took the jump from college into the real world, consulting for a multinational software company in the Big Apple. As an outlet, she worked as an assistant wedding planner for a company based in NYC and Ohio. With her packed background in business, communications, planning and design, Anna is able to bring together all aspects of the design into an organized, stress-free reality. Within thimble+twine, Anna is the calculator clicker, floral architect, environmental designer, and craftista. She loves biting heads of goldfish crackers, collecting buttons, nimble handiwork, and wild poppies. who is emily? Emily also graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in Communications Design and Human-Computer interaction. Since she graduated, she has been working for full services interactive agency in Soho as an interaction designer. On the side, she dabbles in industrial design as well as the printing arts (letterpress, screenprinting, etc). With her strong creative background, Emily focuses on providing her clients top quality designs and intricate work. Within thimble+twine, she is the master behind graphic design and paper goods (invitations, cards, etc). what do we do? Creative styling, design consultancy, decor, gifts, florals and paper Have you ever wanted a wedding that landed in a magazine? Do you like homemade, DIY, budget-friendly touches but don't know how to achieve them? With the whirlwind of planning your event and having to balance everything in between, sometimes things can get overwhelming. That is where we come in to help.
