Since opening in 2006, the Event Center has been a popular rental venue for private events. The SEL Event Center has four rooms - Faraday Hall, Clark, Edison, and Tesla. Faraday Hall seats up to 550 for a banquet setting and includes access to the outdoor Garden Area. The other rooms are smaller, and designed to accomodate bridal showers, rehearsal dinners and bride and groom suites for day-of preparataions. Our wedding packages include the Classic Reception Package, which includes Faraday Hall and the Garden Area for eight hours. Our Formal Package includes Faraday Hall, Garden Area, one additional room, and your choice of linens or drapery arch for a 13 hour rental. Our Grand Rreception Package includes the entire facility and all amenities for 13 hours. All packages include the use of built-in cameras/projection and all three screens, recording of cake-cutting, toasts, bouquet and garter toss and first dance, use of three microphones, one hour of light adjustment or decoration hanging, complimentary use of kitchen and lobby, tables and chairs (including set up and take down), and consultations with on-site event coordinators. Our vendor options are flexible - we are more than happy to recommend local vendors, but we are more than happy to accomodate all requests. Please also note that we do not require food to be prepared in a professional kitchen.
