Thank you for considering Zeta Alpha Studio for your photography. My goal is to capture the style and emotions of your memories and translate them into timeless art. As your personal photojournalist, I document your memories as they naturally unfold, preserving them in their most authentic light. Explore my work and indulge in my unique eye for capturing your best moments. Zeta Alpha Studio began photographing weddings in 2002 as one of the area’s first all documentary/photojournalistic wedding photography studios.
About Matthew Whitlock I went to Coe College in Cedar Rapids, to study theater in 1995 – focusing on technical design and lighting design. During my junior year, I switched my major to Fine Art Photography and never looked back. The lighting design experience I gained in the theater directly benefited my portrait photography, and was enhanced during my semester internship with Jill Greenburg Studio in New York City, NY. After graduating from Coe, I came home to South Bend and began work for Fan Action, Inc – the publishers of Blue & Gold Illustrated (a Notre Dame football magazine) and Blue Gold Traditions (a Notre Dame Merchandiser). At Fan Action, I did all of the product photography for their many websites & catalogs, and shot sports photojournalism for the newspaper. My studio was born when I noticed the recent trend towards wedding photojournalism; it was the perfect opportunity to link my passion for photojournalism and non-intrusive portrait photography. Since founding my own studio in 2002, I've photographed over 100 weddings in 10 States and countless portraits, college and high-school sporting events, and freelance commercial website and catalog photography. While my primary business will always be documenting weddings, I'm always excited by every opportunity to push the boundaries of my experience and style.
