Carrie Biggers-Burnett took a cake decorating class at a local middle school in 1978 because she wanted to make fun cakes for her kids’ birthdays. That little hobby has since become a fulltime professional endeavor, and has taken Carrie all over the country demonstrating and teaching the art of cake decorating, competing for big prize money on TLC’s “The Ultimate Cake Off”, and being featured in many national publications, including Martha Stewart Weddings and People Magazine.
Alessandra Wortmann (Ale) grew up in Brazil. Ale has found memories of baking and cooking with her mom. She has kept the desire of learning by taking many baking courses throughout the years both nationally and internationally. She started cake decorating in 2007 as a hobby. Since then, she has joined her love for baking with decorating which brought her to work with Carrie in a profession she loves. Together they’ve worked on a wide array of cake projects. Ale’s passion is shown through her work by having her cakes taste as good as they look.
Alessandra purchased Carrie’s Cakes in 2018 and is excited to continue the amazing work and legacy Carrie has built. Consultations are at Ale’s residence by appointment only.
