In 2002 I was working full-time at a law firm in downtown Orlando as well as finishing up my degree in Paralegal Studies. It was then that my life changed forever: my boyfriend asked me to marry him! Not only did I become someoneâ??s fiancée, but in the following months I began to realize my passion for wedding planning. After our wedding I returned to my legal career and focused on having a family. Wedding planning had become both a hobby and a way to help my friends with their own weddings. Seven years and two beautiful children later, I decided it was time to pursue my dream of owning my own wedding planning business. Acting on the recommendations of local wedding experts I had worked with, I contacted renowned wedding planner Susie Weiss. Susie is the owner of Wonderful Weddings and has been in business for twenty-five years! I knew that working alongside someone with her experience would be invaluable, so in 2009 I enrolled in her apprenticeship program. Quickly she began to take me under her wing and I learned more than I thought possible. During the following year, I accepted her offer to be an official member of her team, acting in the capacities of Lead, Associate Coordinator and Office Manager. Working so closely with Susie over the last five years has given me a wealth of knowledge about the wedding planning business. She not only encourages my growth but also continues to be a valuable source of support for me in my own wedding planning business.
