Governor John Freemont Hill (1855-1912) commissioned Maine's foremost architect, John Calvin Stevens, to design a grand Colonial Revival home. This stately building was used as the governor's home until his daughter and grandchildren gave it to the Oblate Fathers for a retreat home in 1949. Since then, the Governor Hill Mansion has been used as a site for retreats, conferences, and gatherings of all kinds. Let us help you make your wedding memorable. We have intimate rooms, larger ones, and a banquet hall to suit all your needs. Both the interior and exterior provide elegant and dramatic backdrops for pictures.
