Experience the quiet ambience of the historic Community House of Hamilton and Wenham. In 1921, the Mandell family of Hamilton commissioned architect Guy Lowell to design a building in memory of the eight men from the two towns who gave their lives during WWI.. Lowell is most recognized for his design of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts building on Huntington Avenue and the New York State Supreme Court building. Wedding Receptions at The Community House are $1500 on Saturdays and $1100 on Sundays. This rental fee is for a 5-hour reception. There is an additional fee for ceremonies onsite, please inquire. Main Hall ~ Designed in the style of a 1920s ballroom, the room has wonderfu) architectural details, a stage with a grand piano, and opens into the Library. Library ~ An intimate, oak-paneled room with working fireplace. The library is furnished with Mandell family pieces. Conference room ~ Located on the lower level, this room was once a four lane bowling alley. Today it is a bright, modern space with skylights, pool table, kitchenette, and access to a city garden. The grounds may be tented for larger events. The Community House provides dining tables, banquet tables, sweetheart table, cake table and white, folding Samsonite chairs free of charge. Chavari Ballroom or Garden Chairs can be rented for an additional fee. The Community House is handicap accessible and fully air-conditioned. The Community House's exclusive on-site caterer, Gourmet Delights Catering, will create an elegant and unique event for your special day. Gourmet Delights Catering can provide full bar service for your reception. There is free, off-street parking in 3 lots.
