At Muddy Paws Cheesecake, Weddings are our specialty! It is how we started our business 17 years ago and created a name for ourselves in the Twin Cities. Today, we are #1 in Wedding Cheesecakes in the Midwest and weddings are still the core of our business. They are so fun for us to do and they make for a beautiful, decadent Wedding Cake…. AND the guests go crazy to be able to have Cheesecake! We take great pride our creamy New York style cheesecake. Made only with the best of ingredients: cream cheese, eggs, vanilla and cream…and no fillers. Our award winning Cheesecake is offered in over 200 flavors & is hand made in small batches from scratch with love:).

The Tiered Cheesecake Cheesecakes can be tiered (three or four varied sizes of cheesecake) on a traditional looking wedding cake stand with the additional cheesecakes needed set around the tiers (or the side cakes can be 'put in back' to be served by reception staff.) This is our most popular display. Fresh flowers, fresh fruit and/or cake toppers all look beautiful on the tiered cheesecake. (Note: a two tiered cake and cake stand is also available. Many brides choose this for the head table.) The tiered cheesecakes are usually pre-sliced except for the top tier, which is often used for the cake cutting or Anniversary cake. The tiered cheesecakes are a showstopper! *Chocolate ganachè covered tiers and/or Square tiered cheesecakes are also available for an extra cost.-inquire. Also see stacked cakes. Dessert Buffet: You may also have a dessert buffet of cheesecakes in several flavors (in the 9" size). Most brides choose six to eight flavors but we've had others choose ten to fifteen flavors! We always get the question: what if we run out of a flavor? No worries, guests are just so excited to get cheesecake that it's never an issue! We recommend you pick a few 'safe' flavors and then throw in some 'crazy' ones for fun(pssst..hint: think of coffee flavored cheesecakes too...many people love them after dinner).(**Note: Many times the tiered cheesecake and dessert buffet ideas are combined together on one big table). Last year one of our brides started a new trend at Muddy Paws. She did all New York Cheesecakes (plain) and did a big Sauce bar for them rather than choosing flavors. It was a huge hit! We have twelve choices of sauces/toppings to choose from including some candy bar topping crumbles, various fruit & berry toppings, chocolate, and caramel. Guests get a kick out of spooning on their favorite toppings. SO fun!
The Stacked Cake has been a popular new choice among brides. Some brides want something a little extra special for their head table or traditional looking for the cake table. The stacked cheesecake idea works great for that and may also be combined with a cheesecake buffet. Brides will usually have two cakes stacked at the head table or three-four cakes stacked on a cake table. Then they are placed on a pedestal stand or silver plateau. Flowers, vines, chocolate covered strawberries, and/or fruit decorate them beautifully. The stacked cheesecakes are also great for reception sites requiring you to have a traditional wedding cake, since it resembles a traditional looking cake. *Square or round. Cheesecake Centerpieces & Mini Cheesecakes Two very popular "self serve" options are cheesecake centerpieces and mini cheesecakes. The centerpiece cheesecakes are a hit because the guests get a kick out of serving themselves right from their table AND they make for a beautiful centerpiece on the tables. Also, they not only save you money by “killing two birds with one stone” but they make for a great ice breaker by engaging guests in conversation, especially when guests go table to table to decide what flavor they want. Guests just love that they don't have to wait for dessert…even though they do have to drool over them through dinner! These are available in the 7" size or 9"inch size.(The 7" size serves 8 guests and the 9" size serves 12 or 16). Fresh fruit, flowers, flower petals, or just plain are all popular ways to display the centerpiece cheesecakes. We have several choices of pedestal stands as well for them. Samplers are also available. (See the albums at our shops for ideas) *All cheesecakes are pre-sliced. The Mini Cheesecakes are available in any of our traditional flavors (and some specialty flavors). We have two sizes. Our cupcakes sized mini’s are approximately 2 1/2 inches and are very easy to serve (they are self contained in a silver or gold foil liner). Our petite mini’s are a little smaller but are a touch more fancy – each 1.75 inch mini is made in it’s own little pan! They also serve easily. Both options are very cuteJ ! Most often minis are placed on a tiered stand to create a wedding cake/tree look, placed on trays or pedestals, placed on tables as centerpieces (10 on a silver pedestal etc.) or placed at each individual setting (for dessert, guest favor, or pre-meal treat). The mini cheesecake option is especially popular for appetizer and/or ‘mingling’ weddings. * Some brides have us put fruit atop these and/or add a sauce bar. Set Up & Delivery
The cheesecakes are usually set out about 30 min to 1 hour prior to guest arrival. That is usually when we'd deliver & set up. From that point the cheesecakes can sit out for 4-6+ hours. Ours are real cheesecakes ( J ) so there isn’t air in them like others you may find and they hold their temp a long time. They will still be perfectly cold when your guests are ready to dive in for dessert! (Note:They are baked at a high temperature so they are perfectly safe to display for multiple hours.) Our set up includes: delivery, set up, printed flavor tents (so guests know the flavor of cheesecakes displayed), extra boxes (for the rare leftover cheesecakeJ), cake table decorations*, fruit decorating, and any cake flower/petal placement*. Costs: Delivery cost is mileage based – please call to get a quote. You may also pick up your wedding cheesecakes (and any stands rented + free flavor tents) at our bakery & office in St Louis Park to save on delivery cost. They travel well and set up easily.
*Have all table decorations and flowers there for us on the cake table so we can easily locate them. Flowers can be pre-cut loose or pre-arranged.
Out-of-town wedding? No problem! We handle LOTS of out of town weddings! Whether it is Iowa, Wisconsin, Other parts of MN, South Dakota, or Illinois… our Cheesecakes travel great. We place them in sturdy, stackable boxes for your drive and they stay cold in coolers for 8-12 hours or more. Once you get there, they are easy to set up yourselves. We pre-slice the cheesecakes for you and include ‘flavor tents’ too! Though very tedious to make, cheesecakes are very sturdy and solid once done – making them “slam on the breaks” safe! Fruit and Sauce: Fresh Fruit is seasonally priced. Most brides choose raspberries, strawberries or blueberries but mango, kiwi and blackberries look very pretty too! Prices start at $6 for a cake to be covered with fruit or $3 for a cluster of fruit. Chocolate Covered Strawberries are $1each and are a great compliment to the cheesecake. Bride and Groom Strawberries are $5 each. These crowd drawing; BIG strawberries are decorated in a chocolate ‘tuxedo and wedding dress’! They make for great toppers on your cake and taste incredible. Sauces and Toppings: We have 13 choices!! Bowls are available but most reception sites will provide bowls and spoons for sauce. This is a fun addition for centerpiece cakes or cheesecake buffets. It's always a hit with guests! Cake Stands We have 22 designs of cakes stands/display options available for your cheesecakes (look on our website at past wedding photos for ideas: www.muddypawscheesecake.com). They are all beautiful and unique. You may also use your own cake stand if you wish. Rental prices range from $1-$35 for cake stands. Stands need to be returned to us by the Tuesday following your wedding or event. We have photo albums in our shop showing the various stands as well. Cheesecake CostThe average cost for our cheesecake is $2.75 per person/slice for the cheesecake (based on our traditional flavors @ $32 per 9" cake serving 12-16).
