Joshua picked up his grandfather's camera at the age of 13 and hasn't put it down. Although his home is in New York, his photography and filmmaking have taken him from Hawaii to Venice, photographing all sizes of weddings. After a career in magazine and newspaper journalism (shooting assignments for Apple, National Geographic and Sports Illustrated), he began shooting weddings 10 years ago continues to love his work. He appreciates the opportunity he is given to create meaningful artwork that could end up on your grandmother's mantle, a blog, or in a leather-bound album passed down to future generations.
His unobtrusive and warm personality enables his couples to be themselves and enjoy their day with friends and family without being stressed out by a pushy photographer with a flash in their face. Most recently, Joshua has started making short wedding films for his clients. What's that? You hate wedding videos? Oh he did too, until Canon released a camera that enabled his video to look as good as his stills. Click on the Wedding Films link to see for yourself. Joshua's photography is driven by real interactions and moments he observes on your wedding day. He doesn't rely on trick lenses or gimmicks in Photoshop to make boring compositions interesting. He finds emotion, light and color in that order and translates them into a beautiful record of one of the most important events in a couple's life. His experience as a photojournalist enables him to capture these photographs in high pressure and dynamic environments. Please contact Joshua today to discuss your photography or video and tell him a little about your wedding.
