Chris and Mary Bandereck have been working together in various food endeavors for over 25 years. They graduated from Johnson and Wales University in the early 80's and married in 1986. Over the years, they have worked in many hotels, private clubs and food service establishments from New England to Arizona. Their individual careers have allowed them to experience and enjoy many different areas within the hospitality industry. This website is designed to showcase the various food services they have created and offer today. They reside in Topsfield Massachusetts with their three teenaged sons. Chris has degrees in Culinary Arts and Food Service Management from Johnson and Wales University. He has worked as chef in restaurants and hotels before making his move to the front of the house. Chris has been a director of food service operations for most of his career. Chris prides himself on the ability to serve high end food, with great attention to detail for large gatherings as well as intimate dinner parties. Whether you are planning a holiday party, milestone celebration, or social gathering, Chris is available by appointment to design a menu that is just right for your next event. Mary is an award winning pastry chef graduating from Johnson and Wales International Baking and Pastry Institute, with degrees in Baking and Pastry Arts and Food Service Management. She specializes in wedding cakes, pastries and specialty cookie favors. Mary prides herself on using fresh ingredients in all her products without preservatives. Her products are both beautiful to look at and equally as tasty. Mary is available by appointment for wedding cake selection or a custom cake design for your next milestone celebration. The Topsfield Bakeshop (formerly Demirjian Commercial Bakers) has served the North Shore and surrounding communities for over 15 years. The Topsfield Bakeshop is also the official home to the famous Whoo(pie) Wagon (thewhoopiewagon.com). Mary and Chris are also freelance food stylists. Most of their work has been featured in books specializing in baking and confections, and styling for menus, television advertising and print work.
