Here's where I'm suppossed to talk about myself in the 3rd person like a professional athlete. But I can't do that very well. I've been doing this photography thing for a long time. Weddings, commercial stuff, the Secret Service, Grammy winners and nominees, babies, Bnai Mitzvahs, French food. I love it all. Weddings, however, are where it all happens for me. There's emotion, stress, joy, details, food, still life, and people you love. I went to art school for commercial photography and vowed that I would never shoot a wedding. And then I was asked. And then I was hooked. That was years ago. Now, 4 kids later, I'm still shooting them. They are fantasitic days. I've been interviewed on podcasts, won awards, hightlighted in articles, and featured in galleries. But honestly, the best reward is when I can give someone their day to hold. A day that they spent months planning and then it went by in a blur.
Here is a list of things I love: My neighbor that puposefully installed a squeaky screen door that slams. S'mores at our backyard fire pit. Catching my kids experimenting with the microwave. Watching grown men cry a their child's milestones. Coffee in any form. Finding a nest of birds. The sound of Formula 1 on TV, live at 2am. Flipping channels and finding the Shawshank Redemption is on. Restorative Justice. Conservation. Great gas milage. Good news. Like that Greensburg, Kansas story. When my husband stays up until I get home from a late night wedding and carries my gear upstairs. And then rubs my feet.
